Abu Dhabi: Ahead of the 46th UAE National Day celebrations, Abu Dhabi-based Al Bayt Mitwahid Association initiated a national campaign, That’s My Hero, among the community to promote unity, healthy living and development of the country.

The first-of-its-kind digital campaign to find heroes in the community will continue throughout the build-up to National Day.

Members of the community are encouraged to participate in the initiative and help develop well-informed and innovative society through their heroic services to the community.

Al Bayt Mitwahid Association’s digital campaign, That’s My Hero, aims to promote unity by creating and implementing community development initiatives focused on unity, healthy living, innovation and supporting social groups.

Speaking to Gulf News, Alanoud Al Mahdi, Vice-President of the Executive Committee of Al Bayt Miwathid Association, said, “Any person who contributes to the growth of the [nation]is a real hero as such heroes should come forward to engage more people in developmental works and services.”

A hero could be anybody in the society, such as a father, mother, teacher, innovator or an instructor. They can benefit others in the society sharing their ideas, she said, one hero can serve a large chunk of the society living around him.

“We need community’s support to tell us who the heroes are in their neighbourhood so that we can engage them and help others to benefit from his positive endeavours for the community,” Al Mahdi said. When such innovative people interact with the community they will inspire others for patriotic, developmental and creative services, she said.

Al Bayt Mitwahid is an Arabic terms that means Our Home is United.

Al Bayt Mitwahid Association (ABM) was launched in 2012, originally as a national campaign by employees of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court, to support the continued growth and development of the UAE aligned with the vision of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan,

Operating as a Federal organisation since 2014, ABM has established itself as a national leader in community development, providing diverse communities of the UAE with an open platform to give back to society.

Saif Ali Al Qubaisi, Chairman of Al Bayt Mitwahid Association, said, “We continue to strive for community development by recognising the hard work of individuals in the community, regardless of profession, ethnicity or nationality. The UAE is one of the most diverse countries in the world and we continue to showcase the tolerance and unity of the country through That’s My Hero.”
