Dubai: More than 600 labourers received free medical checks, while around 1,500 iftar meals were distributed at Al Habtoor Labour Camp in Al Quoz on Friday.

Organised by the Medical Wing of the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD), the health awareness camp saw the participation of Mediclinic City Hospital, The American Hospital, Northwest Clinic, NMC Hospital, Al Abrah Clinic, Aster Hospital and Medeor Hospital.

Labourers received free medical consultation by specialists from all disciplines, apart from getting free tests for blood pressure, blood sugar, blood cholesterol and body mass index.

Asif Durrani, Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE, Javed Jalil Khattak, Consul General of Pakistan, Dr Omar Al Muthana, CEO – Community Development Authority, Saleh Al Mazmi, Head of licensing at CDA, and Saeed Al Muhairi, Head of Inspection at CDA, attended the event.

More than 50 volunteers, including members of the Pakistan Youth Forum of PAD, and around 50 doctors and paramedics took part in the activities.

Alongside the health camp, an iftar was arranged for the labourers, with more than 1,500 iftar packs and gift hampers distributed.

CDA also engaged other community social clubs of Dubai in the iftar distribution segment of the event.

Italian Social Club Dubai, Kerala Muslims Cultural Centre and India Club were among the social clubs who volunteered and supported the iftar distribution.
