Abu Dhabi: There are no new regulations regarding UAE citizens planning to travel to Turkey, an official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation told Gulf News on Thursday.

The official said: “There are no new instructions regarding [UAE] citizens planning to travel to Turkey and the previous instructions issued by the ministry after the events [of July 15] are still valid.”

The official urged citizens to postpone their visit to Turkey and wait until such time as the situation calms down and returns to normal.

However, for those who are travelling for emergency reasons or considerations, he said they must first register with ‘Twajudi’ service through the official page of the ministry, and memorise all the UAE Embassy numbers in Turkey: 00903124901414, 00903124901468, 00903124901486, and 00903124901495.

Twajudi is a ministry service that allows UAE missions abroad to contact and help UAE citizens to return back to the country.

The ministry also urged citizens to follow the official instructions issued by the Turkish authorities and stay away from areas of strife and unrest.
