Dubai: Hit West End musical ‘Merchants of Bollywood’ has been brought to Dubai’s Global Village.

The theatrical dance drama features over 40 Bollywood performers, and will play at the outdoor festival park’s main cultural stage. The first performance started on Saturday, and will run until December 24.

Global Village’s standard Dh15 entry fee will cover access to the show.

‘Merchants of Bollywood’ is based on a story of a young dancer who is caught between traditional dances and modern ones.

The choreography was arranged by award-winning Indian choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant, and is loosely based on her life story.

Organisers claim that the show has been watched by more than two million people over its 12-year run.

Global Village will run until April 8. It will be open from 4pm to midnight on weekdays, and will stay open until 1am on weekends.
