Dubai: The LuLu Group, based in Abu Dhabi, on Sunday announced a Dh32 million special bonus for its staff across the GCC, Egypt and Far East, including Malaysia and Vietnam.

The announcement was made by Yousuf Ali MA, chairman and managing director of LuLu Group, which owns the popular LuLu Hypermarket chain, among other businesses. The bonus comes in line with the Year of Zayed, the 100th birth anniversary of the UAE’s founding father, Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The bonus will benefit 41,893 LuLu Group’s staff in Ramadan.

Yousuf Ali MA said: “Shaikh Zayed is widely regarded as the icon of benevolence and humanitarianism, whose legacy of peace, communal harmony and social upliftment is still very much appreciated around the world. There can’t be a better time than Ramadan to spread Shaikh Zayed’s message, especially in the year of Zayed. This is our humble effort in that direction.”

Earlier this month, President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ordered bonuses worth a total of Dh1.6 billion for all federal government employees, in celebration of the 100th birth anniversary of Shaikh Zayed on May 6. The announcement was followed by the declaration of bonuses, worth one month’s salary, for government employees in all emirates.
