Dubai: The Dar Al Ber Society organised a Happiness Market — a pop-up retail market — at Zabeel Park on Friday for the benefit of underprivileged families to say ‘Thank you, Mohammad Bin Zayed’.

The event was organised following the announcement by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, urging residents to offer thanks to Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, “with a meaningful word, or an inspiring picture, or a good act”.

Abdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, CEO of Dar Al Ber Society, welcomed all the guests who were officials from various government departments including the Dubai Municipality, Dubai Economy, Dubai Tourism, Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, Dar Al Ber partners and sponsors, among others.

The highlight of the event was a wall of gratitude that bore the words ‘Thank You, Mohammad Bin Zayed’. The wall was signed by all the dignitaries who were present at the event.

“Our main aim is to keep our people happy and this is what the Happiness Market does. Friday is the day when most people go out with their families and this market gives them all they need to have a good family time — opportunity to shop and eat their favourite food,” Al Falasi, who is also the Director-General of the human resources department at the Dubai Ruler’s Office, said.

“Whatever they spend here will bring smiles to many underprivileged families. Apart from the Happiness Market, we are also looking to launch more initiatives supporting orphans and people of determination,” he added.

“The Wall of Gratitude is a humble gesture from Dar Al Ber Society’s Happiness Market to say ‘Thank you Mohammad Bin Zayed’ and we wanted to do it with the happy visitors of Happiness Market so that together we all can express our gratitude to our beloved leader,” Hisham Al Zahrani, Deputy Director, Social Sector at Dar Al Ber Society, said.

Juhi Yasmeen Khan, CSR and charity initiatives expert at the Dar Al Ber Society, said the society gave out a lot of free consumer items and services to the visitors to add to their happiness quotient. These range from free medical check-ups, tea, ice creams and more.

“This is our way at the Dar Al Ber Society to spread happiness in the society. We are making conscious efforts to live up to the tagline of Happiness Market — ‘Smile on every face’”, Khan said.
