Dubai: Emirati inventor Ahmad Majan has once again astounded the international audience with his humanitarian inventions, and has managed to take home four medals in a 2016 global competition in Istanbul.

A smart sports helmet linked to turning on a bike to ensure cyclists safety and a solar-powered crutch to help elders in times of emergency were among the four inventions that earned Majan two gold medals at the annual Istanbul International Inventions Fair (ISIF) 2016, increasing his total international medals to 29.

His smart device that helps ambulances locate bike and desert bike accidents earned a silver medal and his other smart helmet that allows cyclists to receive phone calls without using their hands and helps them during accidents earned him a bronze medal.

Majan was competing against participants from 23 different countries who had come from inventor associations, universities, colleges, higher educational institutions and other places, it was reported. He was also the only participant to bag that many medals in the event.

Fikri Eshk, Turkey’s Minister of Science, Industry and technology and sponsor of the event commended Majan’s contributions and said everyone was stunned with his great victory and was happy to see the importance that the people of the UAE place on inventing things that help humanity, whether it was for the elderly or for providing security and safety to drivers.

Hakan Bayram, President of the Jury said that Majan’s inventions should be recorded and preserved globally. He said It is time that Majan establishes an international centre for his inventions where everyone can benefit from his ideas.

Majan dedicated his awards to His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

The inventor had also received several invitations to participate in other international competitions.
