Dubai: The Dubai Public Library has announced the start of its annual summer programme which will include a wide array of educational and entertainment experiences between July 26 and August 20.

The library, under Dubai Culture, the emirate’s dedicated authority for culture and heritage, launched the programme to promote innovation and creativity among children between the ages of six to 12.

The new programme titled ‘Our Summer is Culture’ will include fun-filled workshops, training sessions, and competitions to enrich the learning experience of children during summer.

Providing a refreshing outlook that will expand their horizons and enhance their creativity, the summer programme will also include interactive and entertaining scientific educational programmes that will instil curiosity and a spirit of innovation.

Abdul Rahman Al Ebrahim, Head of Dubai Public Library at Dubai Culture, said, “This summer, Dubai Public Library is organising exciting educational opportunities that have been specially developed to suit the interests and needs of our children. Promoting innovative learning, these activities will enable our children not only to appreciate the beauty of the written word but also instil in them a scientific and curious mind set, thus encouraging the spirit of innovation.”

The activities will be held at Dubai public libraries in Al Twar, Al Rashidya, Hor Al Anz, Al Safa, Al Mankhool, Umm Suqeim Electronic Library, and Hatta.

The Dubai Public Library is open to the public from 4am to 7pm from Sunday to Thursday, with free entrance for members and Dh500 for non-members.
