Dubai: Dubai Police have added six new luxury vehicles to their fleet of super patrol cars, it was announced on Sunday.

Two Audi R8s and four Audi Q7s were added as part of Dubai Police’s efforts to reach out to UAE residents on traffic safety.

The new patrol cars were unveiled during an announcement by Lt Gen Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Dubai Police Chief, at the Dubai Police General Headquarters, who received Ali Al Nabooda, general manager Audi, Al Nabooda Automobiles, and the accompanying delegation from Audi Middle East.

Lt Gen Al Mazeina said that the Dubai Police Force has always sought, through the introduction of its fleet of supercars, to enhance the security of the emirate.

The cars now join a growing list of supercars, including a McLaren MP4-12C, a Bugatti Veyron and the Aston Martin One-77.

During the handover of the fleet, Al Nabooda said: “This comes in the context of the commitment of the Dubai Police and Al Nabooda Automobiles together to raise awareness among young drivers and improve standards of traffic and public safety.”
