Dubai: Public parks in Dubai will be open from 8am till 12 midnight on Eid Al Fitr holidays, the municipality said on Thursday.

The civic body also announced that people of determination and senior citizens above 60 years will be exempted from entry fees.

Several events will be held at Creek Park, most notably the Dolphin shows, which will be held thrice a day at 11am, 3pm and 6pm at the Dolphinarium at Gate No. 1 of the park, said a press release.

There is a new natural adventure park that opened in Mushrif Park earlier this month. Rowing boats are available at Mushrif Park and in Al Nahda and Al Barsha Pond Parks. In addition to that, three swimming pools are open for the public at Al Mamzar Park, Mushrif Park and Hatta Park, the municipality said.

It stated that the civic body has completed its preparations for Eid Al Fitr. The operation rooms of the municipality will continue to work during the holidays to meet the requirements of the public influx in parks, resorts and markets.

The emirate’s abattoirs have also completed preparations to meet the rush during the days leading up to the Eid. The working hours will be from 7am to 2pm in all abattoirs in Dubai. A team of slaughterers and veterinarians is ready for emergencies.

All markets under the municipality will be open throughout the Eid holiday, except for Naif Souq, Souq Al Shaabi and the Falcon Centre, which will be closed for the first day of Eid.

The Waste Management Department has also completed its preparations for cleaning the city before the start of the celebrations. The cleaning of all Eid Musallahs has been completed to receive worshippers. The streets and the parks in the city have also been cleaned to receive visitors during the Eid celebrations. Municipality cleaning workers will be present in areas with the large number of shopping centres. The department has also deployed more cleaning workers on beaches, resorts and commercial areas, especially in market areas. The cleaning teams will work round the clock to keep the cleanliness and beauty of Dubai in front of everyone — citizens, residents and tourists, the release said.

The Children’s City administration has also prepared special programmes for children throughout the Eid holidays. These include the Tarzan, Peter Pan and Math Alive shows. In addition, there will be a number of competitions and other activities characteristic of Children’s City. The programmes in the Children’s City will continue for three days starting from the second day of Eid. The Tarzan show will be held from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
