Sharjah: A custom-built bus for children with special needs has been dedicated to children at the Al Noor Training Centre.

The bus, which is a part of a collaboration between Bank of Sharjah and Al Noor Training Centre, is a customised 30-seater vehicle.

Aida Armali, manager, Bank of Sharjah, said the bus is modified using the highest safety standards and state-of-the-art mechanisms, and meets a major demand for special needs vehicles in the UAE.

“With the centre educating more than 260 children with special needs and not having a sufficient fleet of vehicles, we felt compelled to step in and support them and the amazing children that are in their care. Most importantly, our initiative aims to highlight, nurture and develop this important part of our community in the UAE,” she said.

The Al Noor Training Centre will be applying stringent safety measures that are in line with the public transportation network of the UAE. They will include a devoted team of transportation personnel, including the driver, who will be well trained in the various methods and etiquette of dealing with the needs of the children on a daily basis.

“Here at the bank, we strongly believe that success is measured not by how much you receive but by how much you give back,” added Armali.
