Dubai: A Canadian from Quebec has just become a million dollar richer.

Nick P from Canada was declared the latest winner of $1 million (Dh3.6 million) in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw that was conducted on Monday at Dubai International Airport.

He is the seventh Canadian to score the jackpot since the raffle draw started in 1999. The winner, however, is not available for immediate comment.

Two expatriates working in the Gulf also hit it big in Dubai Duty Free's  related raffle bonanza, Finest Surprise.

Lata Bhardwaj, a former Dubai Duty Free employee from New Delhi, India won a BMW 750Li xDrive M Sport in sapphire metallic black. Bhardwaj bought the winning ticket on her way to the Philippines for a holiday.

Another Indian national, Vibin PV, became the proud owner of a motorbike, a BMW S 1000 RR model. The 27-year-old expatriate based in Saudi Arabia  is a regular participant of Dubai Duty Free promotions.

“Thank you Dubai Duty Free for the good news, this is my first time to win in any draw so I am truly delighted,” Vibin said.

The latest Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draws were conducted by Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman and CEO; Ramesh Cidambi, chief operating officer; Salah Tahlak, executive vice president for corporate services and Sinead El Sibai, senior vice president for marketing.
