The programme titled ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ (Salute to Mother India) will begin at 6pm at Shaikh Rashid Auditorium in the school, the mission said in a press release on Wednesday.

Black, a cultural extravaganza by Divyang (differently-abled) professionals, will be held as part of the programme.

On the morning of Independence Day, the celebrations will begin with the hoisting of the national flag by Anurag Bhushan, Consul-General, at 8am, followed by the reading of the Indian Prime Minister’s address to the Nation and a brief cultural programme.

That evening, the consulate will host another event in association with the Sharjah Indian Association and Skyline University College in Sharjah. The event at Expo Centre in Sharjah will showcase a sarod concert by maestros Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash and other entertainment programmes.
