Abu Dhabi: A total of 4,429 public health violations have been detected and the relevant warnings issued during the first three months of the 2015, the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City announced in a statement sent on May 3.

The violations include 2,526 cases of littering and throwing cases in non-designated areas, 84 instances of allowing water to leak on to the streets from buildings and 17 cases of scavengers meddling with garbage containers. There have also been 1,328 cases of motorists parking on pavements, 50 cases for parking near garbage containers, 29 offences for people found barbecuing in non-designated areas, 124 cases of spitting in public areas, 22 violations for drying laundry in public view, 201 cases of washing cars on the streets and 47 cases of unlicensed outdoor majlises.

Through these inspection campaigns and warnings, the Municipality is keen to inform people about the required public health standards in the city and combatting negative practices, the statement said.
