Dubai: A charity project led by 1915 by Seddiqi & Sons in collaboration with Emirates Red Crescent saw around 2,200 watches donated by people across the UAE to support those in need.

The unique campaign #WatchInWatchOut by the watches and jewellery house, which concluded in May, gave customers in the UAE the chance to donate their watches in return for a 50 per cent discount on a watch of their choice from selected brands and models.

1915 by Seddiqi & Sons announced that the campaign was specifically created to encourage the community to connect with each other and support the ones in need, proving that a simple act of kindness such as donating a personal item can mean the world to others.

“The campaign has fast gained momentum in its second year and has received massive amounts of donations from consumers who have always shown their support and profound passion by small acts of generosity coupled with the joy of shopping, “said Mohammad Abdulmagied Seddiqi, chief commercial officer Seddiqi Holding.

“As part of our obligation to support different causes, 1915 by Seddiqi and Sons will be taking part at various community initiatives throughout the year, by providing meaningful platforms to the local communities to lend a hand to the less fortunate members. Proudly, this year our #WatchInWatchOut campaign comes in line with the Year of Giving,” he added.

Mohammad Abdullah Al Haj Al Zarouni, manager of the Dubai branch of the Emirates Red Crescent, said Emirates Red Crescent continually strives to support families in need across the world and are always open to charitable collaborations.

“We are extremely pleased to be partners with 1915 by Seddiqi & Sons as a UAE-based company with grand heritage, on this charity project for the first time and would hope to continue for years to come,” he said.
