Dubai: Dubai Police have launched a new quad bike to be used on the emirate’s beaches for faster response during emergencies, police said on Wednesday.

Lieutenant-Colonel Mubarak Saeed Binwas, director of Tourist Police, said it is the first quad bike used by police in the beach areas to cut crimes and spread the feeling of security among tourists.

“Dubai Police want the people to feel safe and seeing a police vehicle helps spread safety in the area. The quad bike can be used on the beaches and can enter narrow and small roads. It will play a key role in case of emergencies and will be operating 24 hours per day,” Lt-Colonel Binwas said.

The bike will provide services to the tourists and will be a guide point to them.

The bike will carry first aid kits and has a big space to help the tourists transfer their bags if they need. It also has a fire extinguisher in case of minor fires.

Such bikes will promote Dubai as one of the safest cities in the world, the police said.
