Occupied Jerusalem: Three nuns killed in a car crash in Israel on Friday were from Italy, Malta and Jordan, police and medical officials have said.
Police had originally identified all three women as Italian.
The dead were among five nuns who were touring northern Israel as part of a Christmas pilgrimage to the Holy Land, medical officials said.
Two survived the collision with a light pole in Beit She'an, on the Jordanian border, and were receiving treatment.
Police identified both injured nuns as Italian, but a hospital official said that one of them had Iraqi citizenship.
