Ramallah: The Israeli Prison Service has refused winter clothing for Hanaa Shalabi as a punishment for the woman who refuses to end her 19-day hunger strike, family sources said.

Speaking to Gulf News, Omar Yahya Shalabi, Hanaa's brother, said that despite a two-month reduction in her six-month administrative detention, Hanaa Shalabi is determined to continue her fast till the system of administrative detention is shelved.

"Her health and medical conditions have been deteriorating, with serious problems in her stomach, head and eyes," he said.

"The Israelis refused to allow a doctor to get to Hasharon Prison to check Hanaa," he said.

"None of her family member has seen her since she was detained, and that the family received letters from her via her lawyer," he said.

Hanaa Mohammad Shalabi, Hanaa's sister-in-law, told Gulf News that Hanaa's family and her village of Burqeen in Jenin supports her fast.

She said Hanaa's family urged the world to intervene and resolve the case. "We cannot compare Hanaa to Khader Adnan [referring to the Palestinian who went on a hunger strike for 66 days over the same issue]."

Hanaa's family receives supporters from all over the West Bank.

Walid Assaf, a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, told Gulf News that the Palestinian National Council will submit an official document against the administrative detention to the Parliamentary Association of the EU Parliament next week.
