Sana'a: The spokesman of Al Houthi rebels said on Tuesday that the Yemeni government has not stopped fighting against them, and the situation of war still remains.

Sources said that the rebels did not allow the mediation committee to enter the old city of Sa'ada for removing the mines.

Earlier in the day, the government's supreme security committee said Al Houthi rebels are not implementing the six conditions they had accepted for ending the war and they started to do the same things they did before the previous wars.

Al Houthi rebels have started kidnapping citizens and plundering their houses, practices that mirror what they were doing before the sixth round of war which erupted in August last year, said the committee in a statement carried out by state-run media.

"The only thing that Al Houthi rebels have done so far is reopening some roads [and] removing some mines," the statement said.

The committee holds the rebels responsible for failing to implement the six conditions set by the government at the beginning of fighting which the rebels accepted six months after the war.

However, Al Houthi refused to hand over the removed mines, heavy weapons, the military and civil equipment they plundered during the war and release the people they kidnapped from Saudi Arabia and Yemen, the statement said.

Al Houthi rebels did not comment on the statement, or on previous government statements accusing them of breaching the ceasefire.

Some observers say Al Houthi rebels are only focused on solving the conflict with Saudi Arabia and keep procrastinating with the Yemeni government to gain time to re-organise themselves for war.

Despite these difficulties, all four committees in charge of supervising the implementation of the six conditions are continuing their work in four main places — the areas around Sa'ada, Harf Sufyan, Al Malahaid, and the borders with Saudi Arabia.

But Mohammad Al Hawri, chairman of the mediation committee at the borders with Saudi Arabia, said the credibility of the rebels will be clear when all districts under their control are handed over to the local authorities.

"The mediation committees are now waiting for the local authority officials to take over the districts, which were under the rebellion, and then can understand the credibility of Al Houthi," said Al Hawri.

The only thing that Al Houthi rebels have done so far is reopening some roads [and] removing some mines."
