Dubai: Moderate rain is expected across the UAE on Sunday night and winds could whip up dust in internal areas, according to a weather forecaster.

“We have been waiting for the rains,” said the Sharjah met officer, who expects humidity to rise 72 per cent from 49 per cent on Friday. There is, however, no danger of mist or fog in the early hours.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology in Abu Dhabi expects the seas to be rough on Sunday. It forecasts that moderate to fresh north-westerly winds will blow dust and sand inland and reduce visibility.

Saturday is expected to be partly cloudy and warm, the day time temperature is expected to rise significantly, specially in the northern areas. The maximum will hover around 24 degree Celsius and minimum (night time temperature) is expected to go down to 16 degree Celsius.

In the mountainous areas, it will be cold with the minimum temperature dropping down to 5 degree Celsius.

The Dubai met office says that the winds will be strong in the southern Gulf on Saturday and the sea will be moderate to rough.
