Dubai: Scattered rains were reported from Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Friday morning.

Rain clouds are expected to cover the skies over stretches of the western coastline stretching from Umm Al Quwain to Abu Dhabi and Al Ghuweifat with the chance of scattered rain in the area for next three days.

Rain also hit the Yas Marina circuit yesterday morning making the F1 teams to quickly assess the situation and chart out a strategy.

Abu Dhabi residents were pleasantly surprised by the morning downpour with many residents venturing out in the open to enjoy the light showers.

The national weather bureau said winds could also kick up dust and sand and reduce visibility to lower levels.

Conditions could also be cloudy over different UAE Islands in the Arabian Gulf. The sea will be rough and unsuitable for small boats.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), partly cloudy weather will continue in general but it could become cloudy at times in the western parts of the country at around noon with chances of rain in the area. The situation is likely to continue until tomorrow night.
