Al Ain: Sharjah and its surrounding areas received light to moderate rain this morning.

Motorists have been advised to drive carefully on the wet roads. Rain is also expected in Al Dahid, the second biggest city of Sharjah Emirate.

Forecasters have warned people to stay away from the sea on Monday as strong north-westerly winds have been making it rough with four to five feet high waves offshore.

Weather will be partly cloudy in general that could become cloudy at times over scattered areas. Chances of rain still exist especially in the northern and coastal areas, according to the National Weather Bureau.

The country on Sunday received scattered but insufficient rain. People are still hoping for rain especially in the central and eastern parts of the emirates. The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has recorded some 9.4 mm rain at Ras Al Khaimah airport, 1.6mm in Musafi, and light to moderate rain in Umm Al Quwain, Ajman, Sharjah, Dubai, and in the surrounding areas.

Winds are expected to be slight to moderately rough especially over the sea and open land. This could blow dust and sand at time in the western areas causing slight visibility problem. People driving in the areas have been asked to remain alert.

Temperatures are expected to remain between 14 to 25 degree Celsius in the coastal areas, 9C to 26C in the internal, and 4C to 16C in the mountainous areas.
