Sharjah: A Palestinian man, who has been stranded at the Sharjah Airport for the past seven days after his visa was rejected, needs medical attention, Gulf News has learnt.

"I am very ill and I need to go to hospital as I have problem with my hand. The doctor at the airport said that I need urgent treatment at the hospital," Ayman Zaqout, 27, said from the airport.

Zaqout, who was in the UAE on a visit visa, went to a nearby country in order to obtain a new visa to re-enter the UAE, but was stranded at the airport because his new visa was rejected.

Zagout, who did three visa runs earlier, cannot return home to Gaza due to the closure of Rafah crossing.
