Ras Al Khaimah: The RAK Naturalisation and Residence Court on Friday ordered the owner of a company to pay Dh900,000 for harbouring and employing five infiltrators at one of the company's work sites.

The court ordered the Public Prosecution and other concerned authorities to ensure the fine is settled before any further official legal measures are taken against the company and its owner.

Official papers

The court official said that during a routine patrol by the Naturalisation Department, inspectors stopped some labourers and asked them to present their official papers and documents, but they failed to do so.

The workers were taken to the department offices where their illegal entry into the UAE was confirmed.

During the interrogation the authorities discovered how the illegal workers arrived in the UAE.

Authorities were also told that the owner of the company helped the workers enter the UAE.

The court official said the UAE residency law imposes a fine of Dh100,000 and a minimum of two months imprisonment on anybody who provides an infiltrator with a job or residence.
