Abu Dhabi: The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) will send 915 tonnes of palm dates to 25 Arab, Asian, African and other countries ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.
Dates will also be sent to refugee camps and groups affected by conflicts and natural disasters.
The large quantity of dates is part of the UAE's long-standing tradition of helping others. The amount is a grant from President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the peoples of sisterly and friendly countries.
The grant is also part of the UAE's leadership interest in improving the quality of life of targeted communities which are affected by economic difficulties worldwide.
