Sharjah: Sharjah will host the fourth edition of the UAE National Day Stamp Exhibition featuring some of the world’s rarest and most valuable postage stamps at Mega Mall, in celebration of the UAE’s 42nd National Day.

The exhibition, a collaborative effort between Mega Mall and the Emirates Philately Association, will feature an international touring collection of stamps, last exhibited in Rio de Janeiro, and will bring philately experts from all corners of the world together under one roof.

“Stamps played a very important role in the history of the United Arab Emirates, and visitors to the exhibition will be fascinated to see the wide array of rare and interesting stamps that are on display,” said Saeed Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Vice-President, Mega Mall, Sharjah.

Taking place from December 5-9, the exhibition, which will celebrate the country’s rich culture and heritage, will also showcase the UAE’s rarest and most notable stamps.

Abdullah Mohammad Khoury, President of the Emirates Philately Association, pointed out that Sharjah has been selected as a host destination for the World Tour Exhibition stamp display for the fourth consecutive year.

“We look forward to showing philately experts and collectors from all corners of the world the best of modern Arabian hospitality, and to discussing with visitors the cultural significance of the displayed stamps,” he added.

The week-long celebrations at the mall will start on Sunday with a line-up of activities such as face painting, arts and crafts, and a range of Arabic heritage displays for adults. Along with Emirati folklore songs and dance performances, international performances will also take place from Sunday to Wednesday.
