Sharjah - The fourth edition of the Sharjah Children Biennial is set to take place between December 9, 2014 and February 9, 2015, with 1066 artworks from 11 Arab and non-Arab countries around the world.

The event is held every two years under the patronage Shaikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Shaikha Jawaher is also Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.

The biennial will include children’s works between the ages of six and 18 and will display various art forms, such as sculpture, photography, 3D models, and acrylic paintings. This year’s theme “Questions”, forms a special motif encouraging children to ask their question, feed their curiosity, as well as express themselves through art.

Participating works will be distributed among 32 main halls in six sections, with each section dedicated to one-word questions such as where, how, when, who, what and why.

The art pieces were received from 29 workshops held January and October. The pieces convey various themes such as imagination, science, fairy tales and legends, arts, technology, design, philosophy, environment, architecture, and languages.
