Abu Dhabi: Students, faculty, and staff of Masdar Institute of Science and Technology celebrated the UAE’s National Day with a host of cultural activities on Thursday.

The celebration was organised in coordination with the UAE Student Club at Masdar. The day’s celebrations commenced with the UAE National Anthem and a traditional march by the Abu Dhabi Police Band for the crowds gathered at the Masdar Institute campus.

Traditional song and dance performances, such as “Harbeya”, henna art and traditional handicrafts were part of the event. There was also a UAE heritage antique display.

Attendees were also treated to a poetry recital by Shaikh Rakad Bin Abdullah Al Ameri, and a folk singing performance by Mohammad Bin Hamed Al Minhali.

A photo booth was also available for people to pose in traditional UAE dress. There were also camel rides, falconry displays, and special stalls for preparing traditional UAE dishes.
