Dubai: Hessa Al Osaily pursued media to be the voice of the people and positively contribute to the industry.

Being the first female Emirati presenter, Hessa is considered a pioneer in the UAE’s media industry.

“I had the full support of my family,” said Hessa. “Family means support and with the family’s support, one’s decision is blessed, which makes you feel confident about your choice and any steps you take.”

Before embarking on her journalistic career, which began in 1965, Hessa studied in Al Ain Shams University in Egypt where she attained a bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies. She also has a postgraduate degree in Arabic Literature. On her return to the UAE, she commenced her career as a presenter in Soat Al Sahel established by the British base in Sharjah in 1964.

Al Osaily advises the generations to come to have faith in God and in their skills to achieve their goals.

“To successfully achieve goals, one must have confidence in one’s skills and persevere until the goal is achieved,” she says.
