Having just graduated and moved back to Dubai – I am excited to dive into the job market and I am confident of the wide range of opportunities available in my country. Having lived and studied abroad, I have gained a wider understanding for all the expatriates in the UAE simply because we have what others don’t. With Dubai winning the Expo 2020, we have managed to place the country among the elite, and if people around the world weren’t aware of us before, they certainly are now.

The future of Dubai and the UAE with the help of the Expo is very prosperous and that is all thanks to His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for always having a clear vision planned for his country and people. This will spread awareness of not only the Emirates as a country, but also the Emirati culture and traditions and in turn create a mutual learning between us, the Emiratis and the expatriates.

Shining a light on Arab culture is very important, especially at times wherein the Western culture has become dominant.

As much as it is important to spread awareness about our own culture, we need to also look into the culture and traditions of the people inhabiting our land as it is vital to have a mutual understanding. I am positive that the Expo will help us gain this understanding and the fact that we are going to host it makes me feel proud of my country.
