Dubai: After a month of entertainment and amazing promotions, the 20th edition of the region’s biggest shopping extravaganza, the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), came to an end today (Sunday).

From shoppers seizing the opportunity to pick up bargains and amazing promotions at Dubai’s world-class shopping malls, souqs and retail outlets to lucky ones encountering life-changing moments at DSF’s mega raffles and families creating memories in Dubai at amphitheatres, parks, outdoor and indoor venues and other hot spots of the city – the much-awaited edition of DSF truly lived up to its promise of being the biggest and the most memorable edition of DSF yet.

Numerous residents and visitors of various ages and nationalities had the opportunity to experience the landmark edition through a calendar packed with more than 150 city-wide events, mega attractions, and numerous shopping and winning opportunities. The exciting agenda featured a diverse array of activities held under five themes: ‘Journey Into Style’, ‘Journey Into the Unique’, ‘Journey Into Entertainment’, ‘Journey Into Winning’ and ‘Journey Into Music’.

DSF 2015 also saw Dubai accomplishing another Guinness World record, this time for the longest handmade gold chain in the world, aptly called the ‘Dubai Celebration Chain’. The marvel made its entry into the coveted records at 5.522km in length and a weight of approximately 256 kilos. The chain, which features more than 4 million links, was manually crafted by 100 craftsmen over 45 days for 10 hours each day.

Due to the huge response and high level of interest among DSF shoppers, organisers announced an extension to the shop and win gold promotion which was to have concluded on February 1.

Shoppers of gold and jewellery can still get the chance to participate in the mega raffle draw until February 5.

The Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group decided to extend the raffle by four more days, culminating with the promotion’s mega draw raffle draw on February 5.

As part of the mega draw, shoppers have the chance to win 40 kilos of gold, including one first prize of 20kg of gold, a second prize of 10kg gold and two third prizes of 5kg gold. A 5-carat diamond prize and three diamond prizes of 1 carat each are also up for grabs.

These prizes are in addition to the daily 1kg gold and 1 carat diamond and weekly prize of 5kg gold that the raffle has been giving away since the beginning of the DSF on January 1.
