Officially opened by Sultan Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Department, the exhibition will run until February 23 at the mall’s gallery.
The artist, who talked about his artistic motivation at the opening, explained that he uses painting and music as an emotional outlet to express himself.
“Sometimes I feel the canvas is my only shelter, a place where I don’t have to argue or listen to anyone but myself,” said Al Suwaidi. “My paintings are a tangible and physical part of my soul; when I want to see my feelings I paint, and when I want to hear them, I play the oud,” he added. The ribbon-cutting ceremony also included an oud performance by the artist.
