Sharjah: Citizens of Abu Musa Island have continued their celebration of the UAE's 43rd National Day with federal and local government departments and students of Abu Musa Island School taking part in a the functions.

In a speech at the celebration, Khalifa Mohammad Bu Ghanem, Governor of Abu Musa Island, said, "I am delighted to greet you on this national occasion that we all cherish in our hearts, the 43rd anniversary of the establishment of the glorious UAE Federation."

"On behalf of all of you, I express our pride and reiterate our allegiance to the wise leadership of the UAE as we see today the achievements made by the UAE in all spheres making it a symbol of civilisation, excellence and creativity. We are happy to celebrate this occasion here on Abu Musa Island and to have all of us take part in organising the celebration."

Draped in the UAE national flag, the female students of Abu Musa Island School sang songs in praise of the UAE and its leaders.

Later, officials and citizens delivered speeches and expressed their happiness on this occasion with a number of performances.

Bu Ghanem concluded the celebration by honouring 72 government employees who have completed more than 15 years of service on the island.
