Dubai: An e-link established between the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Department of Economic Development (DED), will help transport firms in processing their applications through a single window.

An agreement was signed recently by both the government entities that will allow RTA and DED access to each other’s systems, offering improved services to customers in the transportation field.

Commenting on the agreement, CEO of RTA Licensing Agency Ahmad Hashim Bahrozyan said: “This cooperation is part of RTA’s drive to enter in multi agreements with various public and private entities in the UAE under the ultimate objective of better serving the needs of clients.

“It demonstrates RTA’s firm attention to diversifying the platforms of interacting with the public, and sharing expertise and skills with other entities in a bid to uplift the quality of processes, and provide best-in-class services in the interest of all stakeholders.”

The Agreement enables the licensing of transportation establishments as per RTA guidelines and technical stipulations in place.

It also provides for exchanging online information relating to a host of issues such as the compatibility of issuing, renewing, abolishing and amending commercial licences in the transportation sector, exchanging information about policies and systems.

The DED was represented at the signing ceremony by CEO of DED’s Business Registration and Licensing Sector Mohammad Shael Al Saadi.
