Dubai: The UAE Journalists Association has taken part in the eighth Conference for Arab Media Women that commenced in Jordan on Friday.
The conference was held under the patronage of Princess Basma Bint Talal, the honorary chairperson of the Arab Media Women Centre.
The UAE Journalists Association took part in the conference titled ‘The Arab media woman and her strategic role in curbing violence'.
During the conference, the association appointed Mona Bu Samra, Secretary General of the Association and member of the International Journalist Federation's Gender Steering council, and another four journalists to form a committee in the UAE to follow up on matters discussed in the conference.
Forty media women from 11 Arab countries, including the UAE, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Qatar and Lebanon, as well as 25 Jordanian Media women representing different media outlets took part in the conference.
