Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Saturday visited a rare exhibition of Islamic masterpieces by Dr. Farhad Farjam, the owner and founder of Farjam Art Collection.
Dr. Farhad is displaying his rare collection of Islamic masterpieces in Dubai.
Shaikh Mohammad viewed the rare and precious collection of Arab and Islamic masterpieces from the world-renowned Farjam Collection and expressed his admiration for the exhibited paintings as he asked the exhibition’s organiser about the aesthetical meaning and historical value of each painting.
He praised Dr. Farjam for his restless following up of the art movement in the region and his support for the art and artists in the Arab and Islamic worlds.
Dr. Farjam’s exceptional exhibition spans almost the entire history of Islam and includes some of the rarest artistic masterpieces of the Islamic world.
The exhibition displays historical art pieces from across the vast region between Andalusia and Mughal India, including copies of the Quran; manuscripts; illustrated books on science, mathematics and poetry; paintings and miniatures; finely-decorated metalwork; lacquer; glasswork; tiles; glazed pottery; woodwork; textiles; coins; jewellery; and carpets.
