National Day Carnival to kick off in Sharjah
Wide range of activities to celebrate 41st UAE National Day
The event, which is organised in collaboration with the Sharjah Economic Development Department, will take the form of a national village that will host an exhibition for national families. It will include a carnival and a traditional food tent featuring Emirati bakers, and a photo programme that will take photos upon request and deliver them with a background and frame that are in line with the theme of the UAE National Day.
The organising committee announced that the event will also include the Emirati folklore band ‘Al Naham’ which will perform a number of patriotic selections to commemorate the country’s achievements.
The event will include a flag campaign titled ‘My Work Raises my Flag’ where every participating individual will dedicate a few words on cards designed for the occasion which will be presented to the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The cards will be collected to be submitted to His Highness inside an album featuring the society’s achievements.
Students of Omar Bin Abdul Aziz School will also perform an opera about the spirit of the union, in memory of the late Shaikh Zayed (May Allah rest his soul in peace) and the rulers of the UAE. The programme will further include a two-day long heritage discussion.
