Abu Dhabi: The Shaikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), managed by Cleveland Clinic, will hold the third monthly public lecture on obesity tomorrow at the auditorium of SKMC.
The invitation to the lecture on "Walking away from obesity" is for all patients and the public.
SKMC is part of the SEHA Health System and is owned and operated by the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), which is responsible for the services offered by public hospitals and clinics in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session. It will cover the topics of fighting obesity and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Diseases related to obesity will also be discussed. The lecture will be presented by Dr Abdul Rahman Nimeri, Director of the Bariatric & Metabolic Institute, Abu Dhabi, and Dr Mohammad Al Haddad, Specialist Surgeon at the Institute.
The lecture is intended to raise awareness regarding the many issues related to obesity and provide attendees with information regarding the dangers of obesity. It will be an opportunity for those who may be considered to be morbidly obese to find out about some of the medical and surgical treatment options. In addition, the physicians will explain to the audience the potential complications of bariatric surgery.
