Dubai: The Ministry of Health has warned against the use of herbal medicines containing sildenafil (Viagra) and its components, especially among patients suffering from high blood pressure and heart disease.
In a recent test, the pharmaceutical control laboratory checked Blue Caviarq Combo Pack Sachets, Dragon Tablets, ViaGrow Capsule and Prox Cram. The substance sildenafil was discovered on all the samples while Prox Cram and Blue Caviarq also contained lidocain substance (local analgesic).
The MoH has warned against using herbal medicines which contain chemicals not listed either on the product packing or composition, given the dangers of these substances on the health of individuals and their violation to the terms and pharmaceutical safety standards.
