Dubai: An electronic health inspection system has been launched by the health regulation department of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) that oversees the functioning of 220 health care facilities in Dubai. The new system will facilitate a paperless environment for health inspections.

Through the new system, on-the-spot notification of violations will generate an immediate electronic notification of the violation which ranges from warnings, fines, and temporary or permanent closure of the facility. The system also extends to services like staff licences and other regulatory standards.

This year, the authority carried out 3,156 inspections leading to the issuance of 196 violations including 150 fines for individuals and health facilities, 44 warnings to health facilities and temporary closure of two facilities.
