Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the allocation of 114 houses in the Al Quoz 2 area at a cost of Dh158 million to Emiratis.
The move is in line with Shaikh Mohammad’s keenness to provide modern homes for citizens, enabling them to achieve a decent, stable and prosperous life, according to his vision of placing human happiness and content at the foremost targets of development.
Sami Abdullah Gargash, CEO of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, stressed the establishment’s keenness on speeding the implementation of Shaikh Mohammad’s orders in completing housing construction projects.
This, he said, contributes significantly to the provision of adequate and appropriate housing.
Gargash added that this keenness is not strange to Shaikh Mohammad as he is always generous with his awards to UAE nationals.
He also clarified that the project is part of the replacement project for old residential areas adopted by the establishment in Mushrif, Jumairah, Al Khawaneej, and Al Qouz to maintain the social fabric and the stability of residents in their original areas.
On his part, Engineer Burhan Al Habbai, assistant executive director of the engineering sector, said that the company has completed a project on the total area of the project’s land borders of 4.10 hectares which consist of 114 houses.
Sixteen houses have a two-bedroom ground floor, 46 houses have three-bedroom ground floor and 52 houses have a four-bedroom ground floor.
The houses come in two different architectural designs: Andalusian and Islamic with an average area of 863.9 square feet.
Al Habbai pointed out that the success of the project and its seamless execution was the result of an action plan prepared by the establishment which worked according to the visions and goals set in advance.
The project he added started with a comprehensive study and survey of the area the old ‘Al Quoz 2’, which showed that houses in the area were dilapidated and rickety. It was futile economically and socially to rehabilitate or maintain the 75 houses located over an area of 3,600 square feet.
Based on the results of the study, the establishment decided that its board of directors adopt a 2007 resolution, regarding the setting up of a new housing project for residents of old residential and popular areas.
The location was chosen, in coordination with Dubai Municipality, in the vicinity of the old areas to avoid moving residents to far away locations.
