Dubai: Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on Monday released Young Asian Achievers, a book written by UAE-based journalist Meraj Rizvi.

The book chronicles success stories of 25 expatriates from eight south-east Asian countries from different sectors.

Speaking at the launch function, Rizvi said the book highlights the lives of Asian achievers aged between 25 and 45 who have made their mark in the country, which offers diverse business opportunities.

"Each achiever's story is inspiring and there is a lot to learn from their experiences and commitment to make their mark in this highly competitive world," Rizvi said.

"Motivated by the desire to excel in life and in their chosen business domains, achievers have goal oriented lifestyles and a deep commitment to career and family."

Inspiration

The idea behind highlighting the stories of these achievers, who hail from India, Pakistan, Philippines, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Singapore and Afghanistan, was to inspire others and also to show how the UAE is a land of opportunity, she added.

Among the achievers covered in the book are Ashish Punjabi, CEO of Jacky's Electronics, A Rizwan Sajan, founder and chairman of Danube Group, Kulwant Singh, managing director of Lama Group, Mary Jane Alvero Al Mahdi, CEO of Geoscience Testing Laboratory, and Amit Dhamani, managing director of Dhamani Jewel Group.
