The second Ramadan price report, offered a price index of goods deemed necessary for consumption during Ramadan. Also, it provided an analysis of the weekly index. The study includes a comparison between the prices of the second week of Ramadan and those of the previous week.

The centre stated that it based its study on the prices of items offered by fix-priced food outlets.

In addition, it confirmed that the price of food noticeably increased during the second week of Ramadan including coffee, tea and cocoa by 1.5 per cent.

The centre said it had worked out a plan to check the prices of food items on a daily basis during July and August setting up an indicator for the maximum prices of food items in the market.

The weekly reports will include price comparisons on a week-to-week basis. In addition prices will be compared with those recorded in June, prior to Ramadan, which will help to reflect the impact of Ramadan on prices.
