Al Ain/Dubai: The UAE is brimming with a new vigour of joy and festivity as residents prepare to celebrate Eid Al Adha.
Shopping malls, parks and other entertainment arcades in Dubai are all decked up with special Eid promotions and events as families from neighbouring emirates and even the GCC flock to Dubai to celebrate Eid.

The balmy weather and the long weekend, many residents said, make the festivities all the more special and enjoyable. "It is going to be a fantastic week outdoors as the weather is so pleasant. We are hitting the desert and the beach over the week as my relatives are visiting from Bahrain," said Mohammad Aslam, a Pakistani businessman from Dubai.
Public parks in Dubai are all ready to receive the crowds with special entertainment events like exhibitions, puppet shows and carnivals lined up. Dubai Municipality said its Public Parks and Horticulture Department is organising a number of events in Dubai's parks during Eid Al Adha, which will begin daily at 10am and last until 11 pm, starting from Tuesday until November 20.
The municipality will also be intensifying raids in shops and hypermarkets, cooperative societies and fruits and vegetable markets in order to ensure hygiene and safety standards are not violated.
The Animal Products Control Section of the Food Control Department of Dubai Municipality is organising campaigns at all the butcheries in the emirate of Dubai in order to curb the slaughter of animals outside the abattoirs of the municipality.
Random checks
In coordination with the Veterinary Services Section random samples will be taken to the laboratory to make sure the meat is free from harmful bacteria to ensure the safety of food that reaches consumers in the emirate of Dubai.
The Food Inspection Section will be intensifying inspections in restaurants during Eid Al Adha. Residents can call 800900 if they have any complaints or suggestions.
In Sharjah, the Sharjah Museums Department (SMD) is organising various activities for children and their families at the Sharjah Maritime Museum, Sharjah Science Museum and Sharjah Discovery Centre to mark Eid Al Adha celebrations.
The activities at Sharjah Maritime Museum on the second day of Eid will include folk art shows, a poetry evening with poet Rashid Sharar, competitions and other events.
Sharjah Science Museum will organise various activities for families and visitors during the second and third days of Eid. These include a flight display for children to teach them about the parts of a plane and how to fly it, laser shows, ice cream making with magic liquid nitrogen, crafts and contests for the family. Al Ain, the oasis city, has geared up with its parks, gardens, and recreational centres to offer an enjoyable time and entertainment to visitors during the Eid Al Adha holidays.
Cultural shows
A variety of festival-related activities have been taking place in different shopping malls, amusements parks and gardens in parts of the city. The line-up of activities includes cultural shows, games, pictures and painting exhibitions, handicraft display and sales, and theatrical and music performances.
Al Ain Wildlife Park and Resort (AWPR) on Sunday announced a range of fun activities for families and kids of all ages. The activities will start from today until the weekend after the UAE National Day next month.
Hili Fun City, the Gulf's largest amusement park, will also keep its gates open for visitors during the Eid holidays.
