Abu Dhabi: The sand storm which hit Kuwait on Monday is unlikely to hit the UAE, according to the National Center of Meteorology and Seismology.

According to the centre, there is significant low pressure in North East Saudi Arabia accompanied with strong wind in South Eastern direction exceeding speeds of 75Km/hr.

This caused heavy sand storms and limited visibility for less than 100m meters throughout the area, including Kuwait. The storm will not impact the UAE, but it is expected that internal open areas will witness dust storms due to active winds in Southern direction.
