Abu Dhabi: The 50-year-old father of Suresh was not informed abut his eldest son's ill fate until late evening on Saturday; still he had not slept since Friday evening, a cousin of the deceased told Gulf News.
"He [Suresh's father] never sleeps at night without having a video chat with Suresh everyday," said Chozhiyattil Ranjan.
"Suresh was his dearest son and he [father]would be upset if he doesn't meet Suresh [on webcam] a day,"he said.
Narayanan, 50, who is also the paternal uncle of Ranjan, called him at least 50 times since Friday evening. "He was worried because we informed him that Suresh met with a minor accident,".
Later, he told his paternal uncle that Suresh was in ICU (Intensive Care Unit). "But I don't know how to tell the truth while repatriating the body," Ranjan said.
He said when he contacted Suresh's employer who is an Emirati, he realised the intimate relationship between them.
"He [the boss] was weeping, saying that he liked Suresh more than his own son."
The boss has assured that he would do everything possible to repatriate the bodies at the earliest.
Suresh was working as an aluminum fabricator at Falcon Aluminum Fabrication in Ras Al Khaimah for past three years. Earlier, he had worked in two other companies also and completed almost 9 years in the UAE.
The bodies are being kept at Dibba hospital. The hospital staff said Suresh and the baby did not have any external injuries, Ranjan said.
"They were lying down as if they were sleeping," he said.
But Dilna [Suresh's wife] had injuries on her forehead, he said.
The cousin said they were expecting to repatriate the bodies within two or three days.
