Al Ain: Staggered timings of schools on Monday gave some relief to parents and students with slightly less rush-hour traffic in the city’s private schools district that houses dozens of educational institutions.

The newly introduced system is being largely viewed as a mild solution, with people awaiting more concrete measures to solve the perennial traffic and safety problems in the area.

Under the new initiative, eight schools started classes at 7:30am, with nine others starting at 8am and two at 8:15am on Monday. Classes end at 1pm, 1:30pm and 1:45pm.

The Al Ain Municipality plans to collect a weekly report on how the system has impacted the flow of traffic in the emirate.
