Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi police in cooperation with Abu Dhabi airport customs foiled an attempt to smuggle multiple forms of inscriptions, rings, strings and incense used in the practice of magic and voodoo.

An Asian man was caught trying to get them into the capital.

“B.H.L, 47- year old, was detained while entering the country via Abu Dhabi airport on an employment visa,” said Colonel Rashid Bu Rasheed, head of Organized Crime Section in the Abu Dhabi Police, Criminal Investigation division.

“Officials at the airport got suspicious and checked the Asian’s luggage when they found inscriptions in unknown languages and suspicious tools that he seems to be using in magic and voodoo. Water pens, coloured inks, rings, plastic and metal needles, paper scraps with weird signs, incense, perfumes, oils herbs, plates, cans in metals and plastic containing liquid,” Colonel Bu Rasheed explained.

The defendant stated that the liquid is just Safron that is used to do and undo magic in addition to using the Quran.

This is the first time the suspect visits the UAE.

“He claimed that he has been working in this field for 30 years, offering his help for a small amount of money. He also said that the tools found with him were simply forgotten in his luggage as he was in a hurry,” Colonel Bu Rasheed added.

The suspect was detained and his tools were seized by police.
Colonel Bu Rasheed called on the society members to cooperate with the police and to abstain from falling and getting trapped by such people who pretend to solve domestic problems.
