Sharjah: A Sharjah court on Monday postponed the hearing in the case of the 17 Indian convicts sentenced to death to November 4 as witnesses failed to appear in court.

A bootlegging dispute between an Indian and Pakistani group over territorial rights had led to the death of Pakistani Misri Nazir Khan near a Sharjah labour camp in January 2009.

Seventeen Indians were arrested and sentenced to death.
