Dubai: A 56-year-old British suspect has been given a last chance to defend himself against publicly flashing his middle finger to an aviation student following a road rage incident.
The British suspect, S.A., had pleaded not guilty to the charge of public indecency when he appeared before the Dubai Misdemeanours Court.
Prosecutors charged S.A. with committing a lewd act in public and flashing his middle finger at 19-year-old Iraqi aviation student, M.R., in the Mirdif area.
The claimant testified that the incident happened ahead of a traffic light when the suspect drove his vehicle "too slowly" near Uptown Mirdif.
"I honked my horn and then overtook him because he drove slowly ... he flashed his middle finger and acted rudely... Then I spotted him flashing his middle finger a second time. I made him pull over and called the police," M.R. said.
S.A. earlier told police: "I was at the red signal and the claimant came from behind and honked his horn ... he overtook me, I spotted him flashing his finger so I flashed back my finger."
